Why is it important to ground the electromagnetic flowmeter?

An important part of the electromagnetic flowmeter, the grounding part, is important today. Because the electromagnetic signal of the electromagnetic flowmeter itself is a small signal, the normal signal is flushed immediately after encountering interference. Grounding can avoid the potential generated by the fluid flushing in the pipeline, and at the same time, the zero of the measured potential and the zero of the medium are the same, so as to avoid the error of the difference. It is equipped with a grounding ring, and then the grounding ring is connected to the pipeline. If it is lined, also ground the electrode.

The electromagnetic flowmeter signal is weak, only 2.5~8mv at full scale, and only a few microvolts when the flow rate is very small. A slight disturbance from the outside can affect the measurement accuracy. Therefore, the transmitter housing, shielded wire, measuring tube and transmitter The pipeline should be grounded, and the grounding point must be set separately. It must not be connected to common ground or upper and lower water pipelines such as motors and electrical appliances. The converter part has been grounded through the cable, so no grounding is required to prevent interference from introducing different ground potentials.

How to choose the electromagnetic flowmeter grounding ring? At present, electromagnetic flowmeters are mainly designed for the water metering trade of water supply companies and have the ability to prevent water, corrosion, interference, and lightning. There are no moving parts in the pipeline of the electromagnetic flowmeter, no flow blocking parts, and there is almost no additional pressure loss in the measurement. Regarding the selection of the grounding ring, the following is a brief introduction.

1. Protection ring: The F46 lining sensor should use a protective grounding ring and be screwed on the flange to protect the lining from being damaged.

2. The grounding ring is made of stainless steel 1Cr18Ni9Ti. Special instructions can be provided when ordering.

3. Standard grounding ring: In the plastic and the cathodic protection pipeline that protects against electrolytic corrosion and the inner and outer walls are insulated, grounding rings must be installed on both sides of the sensor.

4. With neck protection ring: If the medium wear is strong, should use a neck protection ring to protect the lining.

The use of electromagnetic flowmeter to measure the volumetric flow of liquid is not affected by the temperature, pressure, density, viscosity and other parameters of the liquid, so no correction calculation or parameter compensation is needed. Therefore, electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in chemical, petroleum, chemical fiber, cement manufacturing and other industrial production departments.
