The trial operation of the largest seawater desalination project is basically the same as the industrial water price

China's largest seawater desalination project, Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant desalination project investing 200 million yuan, was put into trial operation.
For the first time in the world, the project adopts the 'double membrane method' seawater desalination process, with an hourly water production capacity of 1,440 tons. Because the residual heat of the power plant can increase the circulating discharge water temperature by 9 to 16 degrees Celsius, the energy consumption of the seawater desalination project is reduced. The cost of killing waste water is almost the same as the industrial water price. Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant needs 8 million tons of fresh water for the whole year, and Yuhuan County, Zhejiang Province, where the power plant is located, is a region where freshwater resources are in short supply. The fresh water needed by Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant all comes from seawater desalination. After the project is put into production, it can produce nearly 35,000 tons of fresh water per day, while the maximum daily processing capacity of other desalination projects under construction in the country was only 10,000 tons. After the seawater desalination system is completed, it can not only meet the industrial and domestic water use of Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant, but also provide additional desalinated water to residents of Yuhuan County through the municipal pipe network.


Standard Plate Heat Exchanger

Plate heat exchanger is a kind of high efficiency heat exchanger which is composed of a series of metal sheets with a certain corrugated shape. Thin rectangular channels are formed between various plates, through which heat is exchanged.


The plates are typically made of stainless steel or other materials with good heat transfer properties. The gaskets, usually made of elastomer or other compatible materials, create a seal between the plates and ensure that the fluids remain separate.


The gasket plate heat exchanger consists of a number of pressed corrugated metal sheets at a certain interval, sealed by gaskets around, and pressed by the frame and clamping bolt pair, the four corner holes of the plate and gasket form a fluid distribution tube and a collection tube, and at the same time, the cold and hot fluid is reasonably distributed for free diversion, and heat transfer through the plate to achieve the purpose of heat exchange.
