On May 4, Ningxia Petrochemical Company reported that the fresh water consumption this week fell by 51 tons/hour last week. Starting from January of this year, weekly production and management meetings have reported that water consumption has become a system. In the first four months of this year, the average amount of fresh water used by Ningxia Petrochemical was reduced from 1,570 tons/hour to 1,350 tons/hour, a decrease of 14 percentage points, and a cumulative total of 650,000 tons of water was saved, saving production costs of 1.75 million yuan.

Ningxia Petrochemical is located in the severely drought-stricken northwest region and shoulders the dual social and economic responsibilities of saving valuable water resources, reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and continuing development. This year, the company continues to incorporate fresh water consumption into its performance index assessment, and for the first time incorporates external water discharge and pure water consumption into company performance indicators assessment, and implements daily daily dispatch statistics for the production volume outside of the production plant sector. Every week, the company's production and operation regular meeting will be reported and the monthly performance evaluation will be honored.

On the one hand, the company started the on-site discharge point remediation project, on the other hand, opened a good use of wastewater reuse equipment, and strived to reduce the external water discharge and improve the efficiency of water resources utilization. At the beginning of this year, the company's production and operation department arranged special personnel to deepen the site of production facilities for chemical fertilizers and oil refining operations, and conducted a thorough investigation of all external drainage points in the installation sector. For 82 discharge points, the production department organizes personnel to analyze and classify, and guides each unit to take corresponding measures.

In view of the phenomenon of random arrangement, the company strengthened management and increased employees' awareness of responsibility for water conservation. Each team will also incorporate drainage points into the patrol contents in a timely manner, make adjustments according to changes in temperature at any time, and control arbitrary emissions. The company has successively implemented the separation and reformation of condensate from methanol recuperative heaters and other drainages in the ammonia methanol wash plant, recovering 15 tons of waste water every hour. The optimization of the line for the cooling water of the formaldehyde plant of the industrial company has saved 40 tons of fresh water per hour.

The company fully devoted itself to the recycling of chemical fertilizers and refinery equipment. Through technological innovation, improved management, and optimization of operations, the cycle and water production rate of wastewater reuse units for fertilizer plants have been significantly improved. After the new oil refinery wastewater reuse plant was put into use in December last year, it continued to be optimized and the operation became more and more stable. At present, the wastewater recovered per hour reaches 80 tons.
