Hainan Food Safety Risk Monitoring Network Formation Food safety is a major basic livelihood issue. On the morning of the 21st, the Provincial Department of Health and the Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention jointly announced that the system for monitoring food safety risk in Hainan has been initially established, with the provincial disease control center as a leader, and Haikou, Sanya, Qionghai, Quzhou, and other regional key disease control systems. The center is the backbone, and the provincial food control risk monitoring network has formed the county-level CDC as a sentinel.

It is reported that under the active coordination of the provincial food safety coordination committee office, the provincial government’s product quality supervision and inspection institute, provincial drug inspection institute, inspection and quarantine bureau inspection technology center and other multi-sector technical agencies actively cooperated with the monitoring work, provincial food safety office, and hygiene. The Office and all relevant bureaus have formed a good working mechanism for coordination of tasks, complementary capabilities, risk communication, and information sharing.

Hainan food safety monitoring and evaluation work has also been fully carried out. In the past three years, chemical pollutants, harmful substances, pathogenic microorganisms, etc. have been monitored for more than 10 types of foods such as grain, oil, meat, eggs, milk, vegetables, fruits and products, aquatic products, wine, and beverages. More than 5000 copies, monitoring more than 80 indicators including harmful elements, pesticide residues, veterinary drug residues, food additives, banned substances in food, pathogenic bacteria, parasites, radionuclides, etc.

Foodborne diseases and food poisoning are food safety incidents that affect people's health and even life safety, and have received much attention from the society. According to the notification, the province has completed the establishment of a food-borne disease surveillance network. At present, there are 26 medical institutions above the county level that have joined the monitoring network. According to the analysis of monitoring results, most of the outbreaks of foodborne diseases and food poisoning in our province are caused by contaminated food by pathogenic microorganisms. Consumption of poisonous plants and animals (mainly uncooked green beans and oil beans) accounts for the second highest proportion. Sex food poisoning is not much. Poisoning places are mainly restaurant and restaurant catering business units, followed by construction sites, factories and mines, and school canteens.
