The Bosch Group has announced that it will spend 170 million won (approximately US$151 million) this year to expand its factory in Daejeon, South Korea, to expand its direct gasoline injection system . Bosch recently completed a ceremony for the completion of its new production line for the Daejeon plant. The company invested 60 billion won in Daejeon last year. The plant has already undergone trial operation and is expected to start full-load operation next year. Boehsun Korea’s CEO Hoermaan Kaess stated that by investing 150 billion won in building a high-pressure pump production line at the Daejeon plant, this project will create 400 jobs by the end of this year. By the end of this year, Bosch plans to invest a total of 17 million won to expand its operations in South Korea, and the company had previously planned to invest 200 billion won, but the company eventually decided to cut its investment quota because of the drop in profits of its solar cell business. Hermann Kaess, president of Bosch Korea, stated: “With the expansion of the Daejeon plant, we will be able to provide Korean customers with the latest technologies for gasoline and diesel powertrains to further significantly reduce fuel consumption and gas emissions.â€
