Honeywell and BorgWarner Solve Patent Dispute

American auto parts supplier BorgWarner and Honeywell announced that the two companies have reached an agreement on patent infringement cases. Honeywell has reportedly agreed to pay BorgWarner a $32.5 million grant to acquire the BorgWarner patent license in question. However, other specific terms of the two company solutions have not yet been made public.

In 2007, BorgWarner filed a lawsuit against Honeywell, claiming that Honeywell infringed three of their patents on the use of titanium wheels on turbochargers in engines. In a complaint submitted to the court by BorgWarner, BorgWarner made a huge investment in turbocharged technology, but Honeywell applied these inventions without permission.

It is reported that BorgWarner initially hoped to obtain more than US$100 million in compensation from Hollevny for this infringement case.
