[ China Instrument Network Instrument Development ] Innovation, creativity and market influence: This is the three key selection criteria for the AMA Innovation Award. Recently, with the iTHERM TrustSens, Endress+Hauser's R&D team conquered the AMA jury.
Endress+Hauser's R&D team at Wetzer and the temperature measurement technology headquarters in Nesselwang, Germany, won this award with innovative technology to pressure 35 participants from Germany and around the world. The iTHERM TrustSens thermometer is specifically designed for food and beverage, and hygienic aseptic applications in the life sciences industry.
The AMA Innovation Awards are an award from the AMA Sensors and Measurements Association for an innovative R&D team and one of the most coveted awards in the industry. On June 26, 2018, the AMA Innovation Awards Ceremony was held at the Sensor, Test and Measurement Technology Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany.
In fact, this is not the first time Endress+Hauser's iTHERM TrustSens has won the award. As the world's first self-calibrating industrial thermometer, it also won the prestigious Hermes Award for the Hannover Messe in May.
iTHERM TrustSens is a product specifically designed for hygiene and aseptic applications in the food and beverage and life sciences industries. The iTHERM TrustSens has a built-in reference sensor. The developer designs the sensor based on the physical principle of the Curie point. Once the temperature reaches the Curie point, the magnetic properties of the material change abruptly.
The sensor is fully automated and fully traceable in the production process, eliminating the risk of non-compliance not detected, resulting in the highest product safety and highest process efficiency. In addition, the sensor uses Heartbeat Technology to continuously diagnose and verify equipment without interrupting the process.
As a result, sensors are automatically calibrated after each system cleaning or disinfection in the food and beverage and life sciences industries. This brings huge added value to the user. Large systems are usually equipped with hundreds of temperature sensors, each of which requires several calibrations per year. Currently, calibration is required to interrupt the process and remove the instrument. iTHERM TrustSens does not need to do this, and has made an outstanding contribution to the development of industrial IoT in the process area.
