China's first RFID national standard released in the international core of the right to speak

Recently, the first RFID (electronic tag) national standard "Information Technology Radio Frequency Identification 800/900MHz Air Interface Protocol" was released. According to industry insiders, the air interface protocol is the core technology of RFID. The release of the new national standard will solve the problem that the interface of the previous technology products cannot be unified, and play an important role in promoting China's independent radio frequency identification industry and accelerating the construction of the Internet of Things.

RFID (electronic tag) is the core infrastructure of the Internet of Things industry and one of the important target markets for international companies to compete for. However, the national standards for RFID with independent intellectual property rights in China have been vacant. According to industry insiders, the introduction of the national standard has given China's RFID industry a core voice in the international patent competition.

It is understood that the new national standard for RFID has been formulated for two years and was jointly developed by the United Nations Institute of Electronics Industry Standardization of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Wang Lijian, deputy chief engineer of the Electronic Industry Standardization Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the "air interface protocol" is the core technology of RFID. The most densely distributed international giant patent is the 800MHz/900MHz frequency band that is the same as the new national standard. In this frequency band, there are currently more than 600 core patents that have been published internationally, while there are only a few dozen patents in all other frequency bands.

Wang Lijian said that the national standard issued this time reflects 30 patents based on independent innovation. If foreign companies want to enter the Chinese market, it is difficult to circumvent this patent group. Although the gap between “30” and “600” is still obvious from the comparison of patents at home and abroad, the new national standard has already gained considerable voice for independent RFID technology and industry to participate in international competition.

In fact, the issue of RFID national standards has long been valued in the industry, especially in industries that require extensive use of RFID technology, such as logistics and food traceability, urgently need relevant standards to regulate the market. Due to the lack of national standards, the industry is chaotic, and the product standards in various regions are chaotic, which seriously restricts the development of China's RFID industry.

At present, there are five major RFID standards in the world. The establishment of China's RFID national standards can reduce patent expenses and marketing costs for domestic enterprises. On the other hand, it helps to protect domestic information security and promote the development of the domestic RFID industry. Analysts said that in recent years, thanks to the rapid rise of the Internet of Things, RFID has developed rapidly.
