China's construction machinery has gradually become the first choice in the ASEAN market

The reporter learned from the China-ASEAN Expo secretariat that with the deepening of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area construction, China’s construction machinery is gradually becoming the first choice for ASEAN buyers, and the 8th China-ASEAN Expo will also highlight this Cooperation opportunities in the field.

The 8th China-ASEAN Expo, which will be held from October 21st to 26th this year, will showcase the advantages of engineering machinery, construction machinery, mining machinery and transport machinery through the special exhibition area, inviting more ASEAN and other countries and regions. Buyers attend the event and hold more targeted business matching activities to create more business opportunities for the company.

On January 1, 2010, the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area was fully completed. There are eight types of construction machinery that reduce tariffs and the agreed tax rate is 5%. With the further construction of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the import tax for the machinery industry will be reduced to zero, and the cost of importing Chinese machinery by ASEAN countries will be lower. At the same time, the accelerating economic development of ASEAN countries and the intensification of infrastructure construction have provided more opportunities for Chinese construction machinery and transport vehicles to enter the ASEAN market.

The data analysis of the China-ASEAN Expo Secretariat pointed out that the construction machinery produced in China is cheap, with superior cost performance, and it is gradually becoming the first choice for buyers from ASEAN countries.

Li Dongchun, deputy general manager of international marketing division of Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd., said that in 2010 Liugong exported more than 1,000 sets of construction machinery to ASEAN countries, mainly to Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and other countries, among which the sales volume of road rollers and loaders occupies Over 30% of the market share of the country where it is located, and the market share in Vietnam exceeds 50%.

Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. has the largest production base of internal combustion engines in China. As early as the 1960s, Yuchai's diesel engines were exported to Vietnam. Li Tiansheng, secretary of the Party Committee of the company, said that engine exports showed a good momentum of vigorous development, especially the ASEAN countries are the main export markets of Yuchai. At present, Yuchai's annual export volume exceeds 30,000 units, and its overseas market has 120,000 units, of which more than 50,000 units are maintained in Southeast Asia.
